Collection: Pierre Darquey

Pierre is a French artist from Bordeaux where he learnt the basics of drawing at Les Beaux Arts from a young age. He has always been passionate about drawing, creating or taking pictures growing up. Especially coming from a family of artists.

After a break on the painting side from 18 to 24 with a focus on photography, he decided to pick up the brushes again in 2015, when he lived in Edinburgh. This real love for covering canvases started again then.

He is entirely self-taught as he didn’t study in any fine art universities. As such, his process when creating is fed by trying new subjects, new processes tirelessly. By discovering each technic, he is shaping his style, which is eclectic and full of surprises.

Pierre also sells wine on the side, allowing him to pay for the materials he needs to spend his evenings and weekends in the studio. This emerging artist has a big productivity, filling out multiple canvases per week.
